75 pages in this section and these are my “discoveries” from the map links worth mentioning.
From the Giant Guns page. The Rusty Nail in Atlanta, GA closed in 2023. The building has been demolished and this smoker gun is gone:

This little Noah’s Ark in Selma, CA was in this paddock by 1981. It was built by Willis Davis who had 200 pairs of animals:

It was looking pretty sad when I took this photo in 2020:

But it was restored in 2021 and looks great. I’ll reshoot on my next trip up north:

Rosenthal Wines in Malibu, CA was destroyed by the fire a few weeks ago but the giant chairs, table, bottle & wine glass survived:

From the Paint Cans pages. This paint store in Salem, OH closed in 2021 but…:

… the paint can was repainted by the Brightside Project, a nonprofit organization serving children:

This paint store in Goderich, ON closed and this spilling paint can is gone now:

The pouring paint can in Waldorf, MD was originally installed on top of the building of a paint store. When that closed and this sign business moved into the space in 1996, they repainted the can. There’s a botanica there now and the can is gone:

From the Sports Equipment pages, these golf balls on tees in Guthrie, OK were removed around last year:

From the Giant Body Parts section. This dentist office tooth (technically, a post and crown) in Miami, FL is gone:

From the Icebergs & Igloos pages. I never got to shoot Adam’s Igloo in Smithers, BC. The roof collapsed in in 2021 and the building was demolished in 2023:

From the Lighthouses pages. The Lighthouse Law Center in Lake Orion, MI was built around 2001. It was demolished in 2023:

This antique store lighthouse in Marblehead, OH is gone now:

I never got a chance to shoot this one in Sorrento, BC. The Lighthouse Market has been remodeled into a boring building without the lighthouse now:

Windmill Buildings. Watermill Express built at least hundreds of water/ice machines like this one in Houston, TX:

But the company has started building, boring boxy buildings like the ones below. I might start shooting more of these windmills before they get replaced:

From the Other Giant Things pages. This lamp in Austin, TX is gone now:

And lastly, the Big Stump Trailer Park (originally an auto camp from the ~1920s) building in Porterville, CA…:

… has been covered with new wood slats and doesn’t look like a giant stump anymore:

I’ll be moving on to the Car Dealership Buildings next. And then Mini Golf courses.
Happy Trails,
